DWTS Season 25 Recap: Guilty Pleasures Night

Season 25: Week 3: Episode 4

I don't quite understand this opening number...they all have themes clearly but do they relate to their actual dances tonight? I think so. Victoria Arlen had a swimming costume on but now she is wearing a nerd outfit?

Guilty Pleasure: True Crime Shows
Dance: Argentine Tango

Not sure I'm connecting how this is "true crime" but it is like a mystery/film noir-esque set up. The music didn't really help them out, it had barely any beat so I think that made it harder for Drew to follow the music.

Emma is only wearing one earring. Planned or no? Is that the mystery they were solving? Did it fall off while they were dancing? We may never know.

Score: 8 - 7 - 8

Guilty Pleasure: Fresh Prince of Bel Air
Dance: Cha-cha

I love how open he is about his disappointment that getting the same scores made it seem like he wasn't improving, but that he has to let go of the stats! So great. I am LOVING this already. Derek is also so funny.  They are dancing to the theme song of the show, and its already so good.  Not sure if there was actually a lot of cha-cha in it, I don't think they really danced a ballroom dance and they weren't really touching each other at all, so they may not get a very good score... I think this is a better score than last week though! So he did improve!

Score: 7 - 7 - 7

They just said Lindsey, Frankie, and Nikki Bella are up next before the commercial, but now its Victoria. So its clear who the producers' favorites are.

Guilty Pleasure: Tubthumping by Chumba Wumba
Dance: idk?? Quick step?

Wowwww she's throwing it back to overcoming bullies in high school as the new girl in a wheelchair. I'm confused as to why she did a swimming thing in the opening number.  Tom is probing deeper into what sort of support system is on her legs, but I still have no idea what is really going on there. The critique is uncomfortable.  Carrie Ann was calling it trickery...but fair and in the rules... and she's on her way to a 10? Idk.

Tom just talked to the 3 kids who are being forced to watch this show by their mom, and said, when you see someone different, don't be an ass.

Score: 8 - 7 - 7

Guilty Pleasure: Girls Night Out
Dance: ummm

Maks is out for personal reasons? What does that mean??? What's Peta's mood like then??  Glad Alan is back in the show though and without Debbie. LOVING these toddlers in tiaras outfits. She is mostly dancing with the troupe girls to a choreographed thing and not really ballroom so that's kind of weird. I don't think she's gonna score that well this episode. Also that was a very uncomfortable lift she got in. It all just really went downhill after she stopped doing the solo dance with the troupe girls.

She just said "as far as mounting with Alan, I wanted to be gentle" which is hilarious. She's great.

Score: 7 - 8 - 8
Dang, pinay power bff Carrie Ann shafted her a little bit on this, mostly because of the entry into the lift.

Guilty Pleasure: 50 Shades of Grey
Dance: Viennese Waltz

They are dancing in an elevator right now which is amazing theme work by the producers. I also at first was not into Artem's platinum/silver hair, but now I'm into it. He seems way cooler.  This dance is very sensual so it is making it seem good.

JOHN CENA IN THE HOUSE. Wait he was just in the audience and now he is standing up with the dancing couple and giving his comments. Wowwwwww. This is great tv.  John said it was spicy, sexy, fearless, all the reasons he loves Nikki. I'm dead.

OMG he's going to stand there the whole time. I CANNOT. Who else gets to do this? I don't see Drew Lachey standing up there when Nick is dancing!!!

Score: 7 - 7 -  7

Guilty Pleasure: Boy Bands
Dance: Samba

OMG IM DYING HE'S GETTING TIPS FROM NICK LACHEY. I'm dying. D-Y-I-N-G. Guess Frankie isn't last.
Joy Fatone just made a cameo and just said that some people weren't in sync. and then said yeah he just did that. I'm deceased.

I am screaming at him pushing Witney away to do a solo boy band dance. i am literally screaming.  I AM SCREAMING AGAIN THEY JUST SHOWED HIM SINGING I WANT YOU BACK FROM MTV SNOW DAY OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

Score: 7 - 7 - 7

Guilty Pleasure: Pajamas
Dance: Jitterbug? That was the song at least.

The judges really liked the dance. I wasn't really blown away because I have a hard time connecting with Lindsey.  She's too much energy to be relatable or to be someone I want to watch.  Lindsey also made a point to say that she's had no formal dance training as though that's going to help people want to vote for her more.

Score: 9 - 9 - 9
Jordan is going to die haha

Guilty Pleasure: Baking (that seems a little on the nose)
Dance: Jazz

Don't have a lot of comments on this. It wasn't great. The choreography was mostly mirroring each other and they didn't do a very good job of it. That's all.

Score: 7 - 6 - 6

Guilty Pleasure: Romantic Comedies
Dance: Jazz

Is Nick ever going to dance to one of his own songs? What's Left of Me? "I DO"?????? I still love him.  Peta is ultimate body goals. WHAT AN AWKWARD DANCE!!! I love it. How hilarious.

Score: 7 - 7 - 7

Guilty Pleasure: Breakdancing
Dance: Salsa

Cheryl looks so pretty in her outfit. I can't believe he's gonna say his guilty pleasure is breakdancing that is seriously hilarious. He actually did a cool one-hand handstand hold though.  Also very cool ending where they both spun out on the floor into a pose. Very cool!

Score: 7 - 7 - 7

Guilty Pleasure: Comic Books
Dance: Charleston

I'm excited for this dance already because there must be a good reason for them to be last. Jordan looks waaaay better without the bleached hair.

This dance is really amazing. The special effects people really went all out on this. Or it's just a really cool idea they've never gotten to make real. The dots changing the floor everywhere is really cool. The two of them started out doing some flips which was crazy, and then the rest of the dance was also just very on point. On point because it was like perfect.

Bruno just called it a visual feast, and I agree. Len is mad because he didn't think there was enough Charleston. Tom just said one of Len's guilty pleasures is being booed. Flames.

Score: 9 - 7 - 9
Jordan should be happy since he got his first 9s but I know whatever his next dance is it's going to be more of that dance than could possibly fit in a dance.

No elimination this week, probably because they eliminated two people last week. Gotta vote!

Celebs spotted in the audience of DWTS tonight:
John Cena (got to stand on the stage)
Cast of The Mayor (got a shout out)
98 Degrees (Drew made a cameo in the package)
Paula Deen (got a shout out)
Nikki Bella's twin sister Sissy Bella (I don't know her real name)

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
